There is of course a much wider world of drug/alcohol research concerning for example the extent and causes of substance use problems and effects on health and society. Beyond this is policy and practice news. This is where the members of the

Alcohol Research UK
Formerly known as the Alcohol Education and Research Council. The only UK charity dedicated exclusively to funding work which improves understanding of what causes excessive drinking, how it can be prevented and the best ways of tackling the problems it causes.
Alcohol Library Helps researchers and policy makers quickly find important documentation relating to alcohol issues. In a single easy-to-use search facility, it integrates access to documents produced by the Alcohol Research UK with other major sources of alcohol-related information.
