Privacy notice

From the 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation protects your right to be informed about the collection and use of your ‘personal data’ – any information that could be used to identify you such as your name or email address.

Drug and Alcohol Findings provides a free web-based service called the Effectiveness Bank, and this notice aims to make clear what personal data we collect, and how we use it to support the service.

The two ways we collect personal data are:
• through the use of ‘cookies’ when people visit the Drug and Alcohol Findings website to help count the number of times our research analyses are read; and
• asking for an email address from people who want to subscribe to our mailing list.

This website uses ‘cookies’

Cookies are small text files stored on your hard drive to gather information about how a website has been used – for example, to count the number of times a page has been viewed, and the average length of time spent on the site. They don’t do any harm and cannot perform any operations on your computer.

We only use cookies to determine whether the same device has been used to read the same document within the last 24 hours, so as not to count that as a separate read.

Subscribing to the Effectiveness Bank

The mailing list is now closed but this text is retained as a reassurance to former subscribers.

It’s really easy to subscribe to the Effectiveness Bank mailing list, you can do it here. All we require is an email address.

You may also provide (and this is entirely optional): an alternate email if your preferred one fails; a phone number in case of communication problems; your first name; and your last name.

We will never share your information with any other parties.

At any time you are free to unsubscribe, view, change or delete your information. Links to these options are at the bottom of every email you receive from Drug and Alcohol Findings. If in doubt, needing help, or confirmation of the information you submitted, please email.

The main benefit of subscribing is that you will be notified directly about new or updated content on the Drug and Alcohol Findings website, at the time of publication. From time to time, we also email relevant information about the activities of our partners or affiliates – a highly selective group described here.

If you choose not to subscribe you can still view the entire Effectiveness Bank.
